GAPDL'S ROLE IN TOURISM

Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Ltd is one of 13 Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO’s) officially recognised by QLD State Government and is responsible for promoting the Gladstone Region and Banana Shire to both the domestic and international markets.

GAPDL’s promotion of both the Gladstone Region and Banana Shire is multi-faceted, from our Website, Social Media Channels – including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, to organisation and participation in international trade famils and trade shows which are attended in partnership with Tourism and Events QLD, Tourism Australia, QICA (Qld Information Centres Association), QTIC  (Qld Tourism Industry Council) and our Southern Great Barrier Reef RTO Partners, Capricorn and Bundaberg North Burnett.  These include – ATE (Australian Tourism Exchange) and ATEC (Australian Tourism Export Council).

GAPDL are members of QICA, QTIC, ATEC and have strong working partnerships with Tourism and Events Queensland and all Queensland RTOs.

We also have strong partnerships with our local business operators and provide and facilitate assistance through various programs, including our Small Business Advisory Service, Digital Ready Programs and Tourism E-Toolkit through Tourism and Events Queensland and ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse).

GAPDL provides opportunities for its Members to promote their businesses online through this website, and within its Visitor Information Centres located in Gladstone,  Miriam Vale and Agnes Water – operating 363 days a year!  Our Visitor Information Centres experience over 100,000 visitors per year!  Information on Membership with GAPDL can be found here
